LifeWorks Pilates Common Questions

What do I need to bring?

The studio supplies all mats, towels, and small apparatus. There is a large bathroom with toilet and shower for your convenience. Filtered water is available year round. The class are done in bare feet or socks with grip.

What if I’ve never been to a pilates class before?

This is a very common question! Often people end up in a pilates class because they have had an injury, have been referred by a physiotherapist/doctor/chiropractor or have decided they want to improve their posture/core strength. Some people have done little formal exercise for, others are regular exercisers who need to improve their performance or help recover from an injury.

Should I do a private lesson first?

If you do not have an injury, you can attend a class before committing to a private lesson. If you have had an injury/pain or you are hesitant to start pilates without knowing a something about it, then you should organise a private session before you start.  You can always call Alison to discuss this option. If there are other newcomers, a shared private can be arranged.
